    Topics of consultation often include the needs of victims of crime, particularly those affected by terrorist attacks and mass casualty trauma. This can include the psychological and physical effects, socio-economic barriers to justice, and financial support needs.

    When consulted on counterterrorism matters, topics can often include prevention and efforts to counter the spread of extremism through the production of effective counternarratives. Other areas including radicalisation awareness and deradicalisation measures, historical and contemporary terrorism threat assessments, and historical research on selected extremist ideologies and adherents.

    Topics of consultation with private organisations often involve independent research on selected areas pertaining to security and counterterrorism.
